Training Facilities

Absolute MMA Thailand is located in Rawai, near the famous Nai Harn beach. The facility itself is a classic Thai-style open air gym with fans blowing the tropical breeze through the gym while you train.

Our grappling area includes a full-sized MMA cage and dedicated grappling mats surrounded by cage walls.

The focus for this camp will be open guard. The schedule will be as follows:

Lachlan Giles

Lachlan Giles is one the most highly regarded grappling coaches and competitors in the world.

At ADCC 2019 in the Absolute division, Lachlan as one of the lightest competitors (under 77kg) submitted 3 world class heavyweights (Kaynan Duarte, Patrick Gaudio and Mahamed Aly) all by heel hook.

At Kinektic Invitational 1, a five vs five grappling event, Lachlan single-handedly swept the entire team, submitting them all, 4 by heel hook and 1 armbar. He is the 2017 IBJJF No-Gi World Championship Bronze Medallist, 2014 Australian Jiu-Jitsu Grand Prix Champion, multiple time Pan Pacific and Victorian Jiu Jitsu Champion.

He has represented Australia three times at ADCC, the most prestigious submission grappling competition in the world, represented Australia three times at the World Pro Championships and competed at the Eddie Bravo Invitational where he submitted former ADCC Champion Rani Yahya. In 2014 he completed a clean sweep of the black belt division at Australia’s most prestigious competition, the Pan Pacific Championships, winning 4 gold medals.

He also works as a physiotherapist and in 2016 completed his PhD.

Cancellations more than 30 days from the start of the camp may be fully refunded minus $200USD for the non-refundable accommodation deposit. Cancellations within 30 days of the start of training camp are non-refundable.

FAQ

Can I get airport transfers?
We can organise airport transfers for you for $40 USD each way. We will get in touch to arrange transfers closer to the event.

Who will I be staying with in a Twin Share Room?
Twin share rooms are intended for friends that are travelling together. If you don't know anyone else attending the camp, we would advise booking a private room.

What should I pack?
In addition to your normal vacation clothing we recommend packing:

  • 4 x shorts/spats and rashies
  • Beach gear
  • Runner/tennis shoes and flip flops
  • Nicer outfit to go out in

Can I get my laundry done at the camp?
Leave it with us at reception and we’ll take care of it for a small fee.

Can I train Muay Thai too?
You’re in Thailand, why not take full advantage of it with private Muay Thai pad sessions with our experienced trainers outside of their class hours. You can book these sessions at reception.

Can I rent a scooter through the gym?
Scooters will be available to hire from the gym for $50 USD for the week. There’s no better way to enjoy Thailand in your free time!
